BEAUTIFUL BLUE EYES

I look at you and wonder

What the future holds for you,

What do the days ahead have in store

For someone such as you?

Your hair is soft and whispy

And strong you are ~ it’s true,

But what does the future hold

Baby with beautiful eyes of blue.

I wonder if there will be

Songs of joy for you ~

A peaceful life of love

Boy with eyes of blue.

Will you see the sunrise

Through those eyes of blue,

And will the Man in the Moon

Bring special smiles to you?

As you walk through life

Will you see the roses bloom,

Will you see the mists clear

And take away the gloom?

I wonder if the world will be

A happy place for you,

Will you see love and laughter

In everything you do?

Will you grow and see the world

Through fresh and tender eyes,

Will the world bring you pleasure

And very great surprise?

Will you see the ocean roll

And the waves beat on the shore

Will you see the changing of the seasons

As they knock upon your door?

Will those blue eyes sparkle

As you meet a special soul,

Who brings you love and laughter

And somehow makes you whole?

Will you see love in the eyes

Of a woman whom you love,

Will your life bring special blessings

From Heaven up above?

I hope that you can see the joy

Of your children as they are born,

May peace and love surround you

As you welcome in the dawn.

My hopes and prayers for you

Are for a world filled with peace,

Health and happiness

And joys that do not cease.

Little boy with blue eyes

You are just two weeks old,

You have brought such special joys ~

A special life to hold.

Baby boy with eyes of blue

May angels guard and guide

And may there be a special love

That you could never hide.

FOR MY DAUGHTERS

FOR MY DAUGHTERS

I remember feeling comfortable

Holding you in my arms,

Being totally in awe

Of all your baby charms.

I remember rocking you in your cradle

And singing a lullaby,

Nursing you through midnight hours

Not wanting you to cry.

I remember when you would wake

All cosy and warm from sleep,

Feeling such love for you

It oft times made me weep.

And now when I look at you 

I see the women you have become,

It totally overwhelms me

That I have been your Mum.

I often hear the music

Of the lullabies I would sing,

The memories are beautiful

And such special joy they bring.

Written a few years ago to welcome a new baby girl who is now just about off to Kindergarten.

WELCOME  EMILY ROSE

Welcome Emily Rose

At the very start

It is a joy to welcome you 

To our world and to our heart.

These are things we wish for you

As you live and grow in love,

May you know many blessings

From Heaven up above.

We wish for you quiet times

With your family and friends,

May you know a happiness

And love that never ends.

May you know your Mummy’s love

And the comfort of her arms,

As she seeks to hold you

And protect you from all harms.

A Daddy to take pride in you

And hear you when you call,

To lift you up so tenderly

And hold you lest you fall.

We wish for you story books,

Laughter and teddy bears,

A world of peace and comfort

A world without great cares.

We wish you love and happiness

A comfy cosy bed,

A soft and downy pillow

Where you can lay your head.

Flowers on your pathway

A gentle summer breeze,

Butterflies in summer time

May you know all of these.

May the tides of life carry you gently

Whichever the path you take,

May the sun shine for you

And storms leave you safe in their wake.

May diamonds fill your night sky

And for you birds sing their song,

May you play in safety 

And angels watch you all day long.
