MISTS OF AUTUMN

MISTS OF AUTUMN

Sitting at my desk
I look out across the scene,
The empty seat, the mists that rise
And I wonder what they mean.

I see her sitting there
And yet I know it cannot be.
For many years have gone
Since she walked with me.

I feel her tender touch
As she would take my hand and walk,
Sometimes in quiet solitude
And yet at times we would walk.

I look again and see her leaving
But she was never in this place,
She turns and smiles at me
I remember her lovely face.

Seasons come and seasons go
The mists rise and fall,
Yet she visits me so often
Such memories I recall.

Tis only in this season
When autumn chills the air
That she makes her presence felt,
And shows her tender care.

It is my favourite season
And I know she loved it too,
So we share a rendezvous,
In the mists and in the dew.

She was special in my life
And loved me like no other,
I am proud to see her in the mist  ~
My precious, much loved Grandmother.

WALK SAFELY THROUGH THE MISTS

WALK SAFELY THROUGH THE MISTS.

My life has been a journey
Enveloped in the mists of time
The beauty of a peaceful lake
Has often been mine.
I have seen the mists of morning
Wafting gently through the glen
Reminding me that seasons change
And the time comes round again.

I have stood in wonder
As the damp mist touched my hair
I have relished the misty quiet
And felt your presence there.
I have felt the mist around me
As your arms have been before,
I have special memories
That will last forever more.

I have seen the mists arising
As the sun came breaking through
I have stood in silence
And often thought of you.
The day moved on to sunshine
The damp ground soon was dry
I sought you in the afternoon
I hope you heard my cry.

Evening came and the dew was falling
And the mists of evening came
Hovered over a silent lake
And I heard you call my name.
Was it my imagination
Or where you really there?
Would we view the mist together
Would I feel your care?

Would the haunting mist enthrall us
And carry our thoughts away
Would we find peace and calm
At the end of a difficult day?
Would I feel your arms around me
Would my hair be gently kissed?
Wherever you are my Darling
Walk safely through the mist.

FAIRY MISTS OF AVALON

FAIRY MISTS OF AVALON

Welcome to the Garden
My home among the flowers,
This is where I spend my time
And while away the hours.

This is where the moon beams play
And diamonds grace the sky,
This is where the leaves fall
And I hear the wind sigh.

The river ripples on it way
And I sit on moss filled banks,
Dusting the flowers
And always giving thanks.

I splash in roses dew kissed
And watch the sunbeams play
The earthy smell of morning
Brings gladness to my day.

I am a generous Fairy
With a heart that’s filled with care,
When you feel the gentle breezes
You will know that I am there.

I watch over younger fairies
As they learn and grow,
Their pleasant and sweet ways
Bring more joy than you will know.

So when the morning mist drifts
In Avalon’s early dawn,
You will feel my presence
As we face another morn.

I am there with you always
To hold you in my care,
To bring the joy of morning
And freshness everywhere.

I am the Mists of Avalon
With many stories to tell
Of days when Knights lived here –
I remember very well.

I remember Arthur and Guinevere
The Round Table and it’s tales
I remember the lake and Avalon
And I remember Wales.

I recall Morgaine and Lancelot
And the risks that they would take,
I remember the mists of Avalon
And the Lady of the Lake.

THROUGH THE MIST

Avalon

THROUGH THE MIST

Oh to walk in Avalon
And see the Castle view.
To see the mists rising
And feel the morning dew.
To walk beside the River
And take you by the hand,
To feel the love and power
That lives within the land.

To feel the whisper of the wind,
And watch the falling snow,
To see the host of daffodils
And see the leaves that blow.
To feel the chill of winters breath,
To see the stars at night
To see the softness of your smile
And see your eyes so bright.

Oh to walk in Avalon,
To hear the music of the river,
To see the reeds stand in the water,
And watch them bend and quiver.
Walk with me in Avalon,
Let our days be sun kissed,
Take care upon your journey ~
Walk safely through the mists.

WINTER SUNSHINE

WINTER SUNSHINE

I love the winter sunshine
Without the fierce heat,
I love it when the shadows
Make pictures at my feet.

The walks beside the river
With trees reflected there,
Glistening ripples on the water,
Days without a care.

The winter sunshine brings
 Contentment to my days,
The outlines of the bare trees
Etched by sunshine’s rays.

The rising of the winter sun
Chasing away the mist,
The dewdrops on the cold grass ~
The world is sunshine kissed.

I love the winter sunshine,
And the promise that it brings,
Sunshine silhouettes gleaming
Oh how my heart sings!
