FINDING JOY IN THE JOURNEY

JOY IN THE JOURNEY

Please don't visit me in my past
For I don't live there anymore.
I am moving forward
Life is different than before.
I dwell in possibility
With hope as companion and friend
There is joy in the journey for me
As I travel round every bend.

I find joy in the simplest of things
A bird on the wing and a flower small,
Daffodils in springtime
A rose beside the wall.
I will not live in shadowed halls
And I turn my face to the sun
Then the shadows are behind me
And half my battle is won.

The pathway may be rugged
And my steps may falter and fall
But there are friends who journey with me
And hear me when I call.
I have been a bird with a broken wing
And feel that now I'm healed
I rise and soar and fly free
My destiny is sealed.

I share my smiles as I travel on
The song in my heart can be heard
There is  such joy in my journey
And I thank you that you cared.
Cared enough to encourage me
And dared me to stand tall
You have been my safety net
To catch me when I fall.

The energy that I exude is positive
And attracts positive things to me
People say I'm looking well ~
There is joy in my journey you see.
So much for me to see and share
Days are different than before
Please don't visit me in my past
For I don't live there any more.

SUNDAY MORNING PEACE

SUNDAY MORNING PEACE

It is Sunday morning in my world
And my heart is full of peace,
The day is just beginning
And it's wonders never cease.
I see a watery sun in a pale blue sky
And there is a gentle breeze,
Winter roses are still blooming
Even on days like these.

Bread is cooking in my kitchen
And warm sweet smells fill the air,
My heart is full of thanks today
For family and friends everywhere.
I have the whole day before me
To do what I feel is best
It will be a calm and peaceful day
I will not be put to the test.

Tender thoughts are winging
To those whose path is steep,
Who carry on regardless
And often stop to weep.
I think of you all so often
And whisper up a prayer
That you will be given strength
And wrapped in tender care.

Random thoughts are now buzzing
In this busy head of mine
About the things that I should do -
The washing's on the line.
The bread and soup are cooking
And I feel at ease
With the direction of my journey
On Sundays such as these.

Wherever you are on your journey
I wish you peace and calm
May angels hover over you
And keep you safe from harm.
I wish you peace and gladness
And a song within your heart
May this day be just a beginning
Of a very special start.

A time when comes awareness
And a gratitude for life
In spite of all the dangers
The trouble and the strife.
May love and laughter fill your home
And tenderness be your friend.
May courage help you face
Whatever is around the bend.

SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY

SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY

I took a trip in memory today
And travelled down the years
There was laughter to behold,
And eyes to wipe from tears.

In memory I strayed over time,
Stood and opened my heart’s door,
I gazed and I recalled
The way things were before.

It made me stop and look at life
And the things that bring me pleasure,
The days when emotion was high
And I made memories to treasure.

I walked in fields of daffodils,
Felt the sea wind on my face,
Kicked through autumn leaves
And saw spider webs of lace.

I once more held a baby
And smelled the fragrance sweet,
There were diamonds in my sky
And flowers at my feet.

I sat and talked in friendship
Quiet confidence and trust,
I watched the river on its bar
Saw fire, flood and dust.

I let a year pass before me
Saw the seasons come and go,
Saw the best of sentimental treasures
That my heart will ever know.

No jewels here of earthly value~
No fortune to be spent,
Just the best of my hearts treasures
That Heaven ever sent.
