MY MORNING

MY MORNING

I watched the dawn this morning
And felt some peace and calm,
I felt the velvet wings of morning
Shelter me from harm.

I listened to the quiet this morning
And found some sweet release,
I heard the birds’ first songs
And I felt the world at peace.

I watched the sunrise this morning
And saw an artist’s hand,
I saw the paint upon the canvas
And the way that it is planned.

I saw the dew upon the rose this morning
And walked on dew kissed grass,
I knew these early morning delights
Would very quickly pass.

I offered up my thanks this morning
From a heart that knows some fears,
I experienced the miracle of morning
And quietly wiped away my tears.

I watched the dawn this morning
And saw so many things
I gathered strength this morning
For whatever my day brings.

THE ROSE FAIRY

THE ROSE FAIRY

Sometime in early morning
When your garden is sun kissed,
Take a look around you
And you will see me in the mist.

I am the gentle Rose Fairy
You will see me everywhere,
With soft and velvet petals
And dewdrops in my hair.

I have dresses of many colours
And a fragrance very sweet,
I am here to keep you company
And scatter petals at your feet.

My wings are made of cobwebs
And look like perfect lace,
I move through your garden
With dignity and grace.

So if you look around your garden
And feel the morning dew,
Then you should know The Rose Fairy
Has been to visit you.

A WINTER ROSE

A WINTER ROSE

I saw it early in the morning
When the frost was on the grass,
A picture of impeccable beauty ~
I could not let this moment pass.
Dewdrops on the petals
Of this winter flower,
A fragrance in my garden
In the early morning hour.

Too soon will come the cold wind
And the petals will be blown,
One single forlorn blossom
In my garden I have grown.
Yet it encourages me
To also stand strong and tall,
One solitary blossom,
In my garden by the wall.

This winter rose holds beauty
And memories of days gone by,
Why, then am I surprised
To find a tear within my eye.
In the quiet of early morning
When the garden shares a hush,
I find that am captivated by
A winter rose’s blush.
