HAPPY THOUGHTS

HAPPY THOUGHTS

Try to find joy around you
In all the little things,
And you will be surprised
At the measure of joy it brings.

See the glass half full,
The blossoms in the spring,
The diamond dewdrop on the rose,
The bird upon the wing.

Play with a child and learn again
That life is full of fun.
Splash in the puddles ~
Feel the warmth of the sun.

Smile at a stranger and you will find
Your smile will cheer his day.
Listen to music and sing along
As you go along your way.

Our positive thoughts affect our day,
Our lives and those we meet,
Dance in the moonlight
With wings upon your feet.

Stretch your wings and dare to be
A positive caring soul,
And the joy you spread as you go along
Will help you to be whole.

SWEETEST OF DAYS

THE SWEETEST OF DAYS

Bring me the sunset in a cup
And let it overflow.
Bring me the sweetest of days
That I will ever know.

Bring me love in your eyes
And kindness in your smile.
Let me feel you walk beside me
Every step of every mile.

Let me hear your laughter
And feel your tender touch.
Let me hear the words you say ~
That you love me very much.

Bring me the dewdrop from the rose,
Bring me the tears from your eyes.
Let me hold you closely
Under clear blue open skies.

Bring me a newborn baby
And place it in my arms.
Let me love and cherish it
And keep it safe from harm.

Bring me memories of days gone by
When love itself would grow
Bring me sunset in a cup
And let it overflow.

BEAUTY AT MORNING

BEAUTY IN MY MORNING

I watched the dawn this morning
And felt some peace and calm,
I felt the velvet wings of morning
Shelter me from harm.

I listened to the quiet this morning
And found some sweet release,
I heard the birds’ first songs
And I felt the world at peace.

I watched the sunrise this morning
And saw an artist’s hand,
I saw the paint upon the canvas
And the way that it is planned.

I saw the dewdrop on the rose this morning
And walked on dew kissed grass,
I knew these early morning delights
Would very quickly pass.

I offered up my thanks this morning
From a heart that’s known some fears,
I experienced the miracle of morning
And quietly wiped away my tears.

I watched the dawn this morning
And saw so many things
I gathered strength this morning
For whatever my day brings.

A GENTLE BREEZE

GENTLE BREEZE

May a gentle breeze caress you
And cool your fevered brow,
May there be a light to guide you
Wherever you may go.

May the fragrance of rose envelope you
As you gently brush past,
May there be for you sweet music
And memories that last.

May a birdsong fill your morning
With the joy of a spirit free,
May the gentle waves splash upon you
As you stand beside the sea.

May you see the dewdrop on a rose
And the leaves as they toss and quiver,
May you see the ducklings play
As you stand beside the river.

May the shadows of a full moon
Fall gently on your way,
May you see the morning star
As you start another day.

May you walk through autumn leaves
As the seasons once more pass,
May you bravely walk barefoot
Through the frost upon the grass.

May you splash in puddles
And remember childhood days,
May joy and love surround you
In friendship’s special ways.

A WINTER ROSE

A WINTER ROSE

I saw it early in the morning
When the frost was on the grass,
A picture of impeccable beauty ~
I could not let this moment pass.
Dewdrops on the petals
Of this winter flower,
A fragrance in my garden
In the early morning hour.

Too soon will come the cold wind
And the petals will be blown,
One single forlorn blossom
In my garden I have grown.
Yet it encourages me
To also stand strong and tall,
One solitary blossom,
In my garden by the wall.

This winter rose holds beauty
And memories of days gone by,
Why, then am I surprised
To find a tear within my eye.
In the quiet of early morning
When the garden shares a hush,
I find that am captivated by
A winter rose’s blush.
