SPRINGTIME IN PHILADELPHIA

--
SPRINGTIME IN PHILADELPHIA

It's springtime in Philadelphia
And the daffodils are in bloom
Sunshine can be seen again
From the windows of each room.

The sky is blue with wispy clouds of white
And warmth is in the air again,
Spring blossoms grace the streets once more
And sometimes showers of spring rain,

The seasons now are changing
Bringing joy to a special heart
There's been an aching and a longing
For spring days to finally start.

There is digging, weeding and planting
And soon new growth will appear
Beautiful flowers and garden herbs
Hearts to encourage and cheer,

So many miles from Philadelphia
Autumn is showing her face,
The days are getting shorter
And winter is coming apace.

Autumnal days and hours,
Leaves of every hue
There is a chill in the air this morning
And a very heavy dew.

Temperatures are much the same
On both sides of the world
But here in Adelaide leaves are falling
For you tiny buds uncurled.

I bless the changing of the seasons
And the sharing from the heart
Of all the joys and pleasures
Of which these seasons are a part.

I long for cooler weather
Relief from summer haze
While your heart is yearning
For the warmth of summer days.

Iced tea in the garden for you,
Lazy days upon the shore,
Hot chocolate and fireside for me
I could not wish for more.

You will read your books beside the sea
Under shelter from the sun
Days will be long and lazy
Children playing  having fun.

I'll find a fireside chair and curl up
My book, my coffee and a cake
Oh how I love the changing seasons
And the joys that they make.

We are blessed to see another season
Of change and nature's growth
With thankful hearts we welcome
The changes for us both.

A NORTHERN HEMISPHERE SPRINGTIME

A NORTHERN HEMISPHERE SPRINGTIME

The daffodils are blooming
And spring is in the air,
The sky above is bluer
And days are fine and fair
I think of you so often
And wish that I was there.
Know that my thoughts are with you
And that I send my care.

I wish that I could share your springtime
And the flowers as they bloom,
But I have a photograph
Which sits across my room.
In my imagination I see you walking
With pansies at your feet
A spring in your step and a smile
For those you happen to meet.

I feel the sense of wonder
When spring is all around
A sense of coming home
Where joy and peace is found.
My thoughts are with you as you walk
And take in all the scene
A very special season
When grass again is green.

May your heart be wonder filled
As you touch the dark brown earth,
The miracle of springtime,
A special time of rebirth.
May snowdrops ring their tiny bells
And the daffodils be straight and strong,
May the spring time music play
And may you hear it's song.

SPRING GARDEN

SPRING GARDEN

I walked today in spring’s damp garden
And saw the violets in bloom.
A fresh cool breeze caressed me
And I smelled the sweet perfume.

The daffodils were dancing
And bending as I passed
The heady scent of hyacinths
Gave me memories to last.

White petals from the blossom
Of the old faithful almond tree
An avenue of blossoms pink
As far as the eye could see.

The days are getting longer
And perfume is in the air
The roses are in bud at last
And days are clear and fair.

It is time for planting of seedlings
Tomatoes and lettuce and such
Setting blossoms will soon become
The sweetest of summer fruit.

Springtime brings us changes
As the seasons come and go
I will always remember the violets
And the perfume that I know.

CYMRU

CYMRU

There is a stirring in my soul
To walk again the Welsh Hills,
To see the gentle snowdrops
And the glorious daffodils.

To spend time again in the Valleys
Where the miners no longer toil,
To stand and breathe the fresh air
Which mines can no longer spoil.

My car wears the “Dragon”
And my desk the Welsh Flag.
No more mountains of refuse
No more hills of mining slag.

“Land of my Fathers
Whose glories are told
By bard and by minstrel
Who loved thee of old”

I love her rugged coastline
Her gentle sheep clad hills,
And my heart rejoices
When I see her daffodils.

Maybe one day I shall grasp the courage
To travel back once more ~
To stand upon her coast line
To open memory’s door.

When I feel her winds caress me
And her songs lull me to sleep
I know that I shall be happy
And that I shall surely weep.

SUNSHINE YELLOW

© Keen to be Seen

SUNSHINE YELLOW

Yellow is the sunshine
On days when skies are clear,
Fluffy little ducklings
Walking without fear.

Bananas growing on the vine
Lemons on the tree,
Golden and delicious apples
Picked especially for me.

Fresh eggs collected from the hens
With sunshine yellow yolks
Wheat ripening in the fields
Brings special joy to folks.

Daffodils in springtime
Pure magic to my soul,
Special blossoms in my garden
Making me feel whole.

A candle flame at evening
A rose whose name is "Peace"
Yellow brings to me such joys
I hope will never cease.

Oh, you can colour my world with happiness all the way!"
