THERE IS BEAUTY ALL AROUND YOU

BEAUTY ALL AROUND YOU

There is beauty all around you
Drink deeply of it's treasure
The sights and sounds of life itself
Enjoy in fullest measure.
The roses from the garden
Picked in early morning hours
The fragrant and velvet petals
This Queen of all the flowers.

The cool and gentle breezes
The clear blue skies above
A gentle hand to hold us
And eyes that show great love.
The salty tang of sea spray
A gull's loud and plaintive call
Crisp and golden autumn leaves
Blown in piles against the wall.

Daffodils in springtime
A faithful dog at heel
The sound of sweet sweet music
That makes our senses reel.
The colour of the brown damp earth
The sound of tramping feet
Coffee in the morning
Smiles from those we meet.

Majestic mountains soaring
A river on the run
The rise and fall of ocean tides
The setting of the sun.
The stillness of the mist that rises
The puddles after rain
New buds and setting fruit
And fields of golden grain.

Apples on laden boughs
Strawberries in the patch
Tomatoes ripening on the vine
Bring joys that none can match
Time spent with loved ones
A letter from a friend
Warmth and love and laughter
Such joys that never end..

A book to read and savour
A warm and cozy bed
A soft and downy pillow
Where you can lay your head.
The sound of laughter ringing
Times of silly play
Find the beauty all around you
It is there in every day.

There is beauty all around you
In photographs of days gone by
Special memories returning
Without the need to try.
Absorb each special beauty
Find the joy in little things
Celebrate the beauty
Living daily brings.

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS TO YOU

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS TO YOU.

I wish you love
And truth and peace,
Days in the sun
To find release.
I wish you health
And happy days,
Someone to appreciate
Your kind and caring ways.

I wish for you a challenge
And that you are equal to the task
The love of friends and family
And all that you may ask.
I wish you the joy of a winter walk
And sunshine after rain.
I wish for you roses, violets ~
Daffodils when springtime comes again.

I wish for you self courage
Laughter and some tears.
I wish for you smiles
And someone to wipe your tears.
I wish for you some kindness
From the people that you meet.
I wish you warmth and safety
And a journey that is sweet.

Happy Birthday my sweet friend
May diamonds fill your sky,
May you always pose the question
And find the reasons why.
I wish you a flower strewn pathway,
Special hours and special days
Your family to love you
For all your loving ways.

BUTTERFLY DAYS

BUTTERFLY DAYS.

I wish that I were a butterfly
Drifting on the breeze
Then I could bring you happiness
On Summer days like these.

You could watch me drifting
And see my colours bright,
And wonder where it is I hide
When the sun goes down at night.

I would spend time among the flowers
And smell the perfume sweet,
You would find the petals
On the path beneath your feet.

I wish I were a butterfly
With gentle fluttering wings,
I would bring you summer joy
And lots of other things.

THE GARDEN GATE

THE GARDEN GATE

The gate is always open
Come through it with me
Let's find a special place
Where we can really be free.
Let's put aside our troubles
And the fear of beginning to trust
Take my hand and come with me
On a journey which is a must.

Through that gate of friendship
We will find such very special things
The joy of love and laughter
And a heart that really sings.
We will find warmth and comfort
And arms that hold us near
Shelter from the storms of life
And we will hold no fear.

This is a special garden
And acceptance will be found,
Abundant tears we will shed
From hearts strong and sound.
Tender smiles from eyes of blue
A dimple on a cheek
A tendril of hair gently brushed aside
Such kindness we will seek.

We'll watch the mists of evening gather
And be wrapped in their care
We will see the birds settle ~
Silence everywhere.
The gentle brook will babble
As it goes on it's merry way
A special place to visit
A place we'll want to stay.

The garden is our very own
And tended with love and care
Flowers of friendship blossoming ~
Fragrance everywhere.
We will watch the seasons come and go
Take courage and strength from it all
A special place of joy and hope
Behind the garden wall.

AFTERNOON IN A GARDEN

AFTERNOON IN A GARDEN

I sat outside this afternoon
Oblivious of the hands of time
I watched a butterfly
Such special joy was mine.

Her wings were soft and gentle
Her heart in tune with life,
She flitted here and flitted there
Unaware of human strife.

She had know the struggle
To come from chrysalis
Cocooned away for many days
And now such joy as this.

She too was unaware of time
We both felt the sun's soft kiss
A wonderful hour spent
In freedom I would not miss.

I thought of my chrysalis days
When the clock for me didn't chime
I felt the wonder of health restored
And the joys that now are mine.

Like the butterfly I happily move
From beautiful flower to flower
So many precious things are mine
And I count not the day nor hour.

I live in possibility and hope
The warmth of the sun at my back
I am loved and cherished
And nothing do I lack.

The world is my garden and I cherish
The hours that I spend in thought
I cherish the love that now is mine
And the special joys it has brought.

SPECIAL THOUGHTS ON FRIENDSHIP

SPECIAL THOUGHTS ON FRIENDSHIP

The fragrance of your friendship
Adds a sweetness to my days,
Reminding me how blessed I am
To know your sweet and kindly ways.

You bring such joy to my heart,
To my days and my life,
Sharing my happy times
And shielding me from strife.

You have shared so much with me
Of the things that stir your soul,
I have tried to encourage you
And help you to feel whole.

Our friendship's grown and blossomed
Just like the wild spring flowers
The music that we often share
Brings joy to many hours.

I wish you a flower strewn pathway,
A gentle summer breeze,
The perfume of a summer rose
On special days like these.

A diamond studded sky be yours
As moonbeams dance below,
The touch of a gentle hand ~
Letters from someone you know.

The pleasure of digging in damp soil,
Planting and weeding and tilling,
All the fruits of the harvest
And baskets you are filling.

Strong arms to hold and love you,
A special gentle smile,
The quiet hush of evening,
When you have walked a weary mile.

A welcome at your doorway
A table fully spread,
Summer evenings in the garden,
Contentment to fill your head.

A quiet chair at end of day,
A warm and comfortable bed
A soft and downy pillow
Where you can lay your head.

These are the gifts of friendship
And I tie them with ribbons of love,
I quietly ask that you are blessed
With gifts from heaven above.

TAKE TIME

TAKE TIME

Take time to smell the flowers
To hold a small child’s hand,
Feel the gentle breezes
As they blow across the land.
Take time to watch the sunset
And walk upon the shore,
Feel the sand between your toes
As you have done before.

Take the time to listen
To the music of your soul,
Rest, restore and rediscover
The things that make you whole.
Take time to splash in puddles
And watch the diamond sky.
Take time to watch the river
As it flows and rushes by.

Stand beside the weeping willow
With its leaves in the water
Take time to sit and quietly talk
With your precious son or daughter.
Enjoy the time you spend
With photographs and books,
Remembering the days gone by~
Those special loving looks.

SUMMER MEADOWS

SUMMER MEADOWS

I see you now in summer meadows
And watch the sun play on your hair,
I see you picking daisies
And threading them with care.
The gentle breezes blow your way
And butterflies are winging,
I hear your gentle laughter-
I hear you softly singing.

I see you by the river banks
Watching as it flows
I see you walking at the edges
And splashing with your toes.
You gather fruit from laden trees
You have no sense of time,
All summer days seem endless
And every day is fine.

I see you in a summer storm
At the end of a very hot day.
I see you in the rising moon
And the clouds that drift my way.
Your presence is always with me
Not only in summer’s hours,
I remember you in winter
On the days without the flowers.

I remember you in autumn,
In the red and golden leaves.
I remember you by the ocean
As it gently rolls and heaves.
I see you in the snowdrops
And the daffodils in spring,
I see you in the rainbow
And the birds upon the wing.

I see you in the dewdrops
On the roses that you grew.
I hear the echo of your voice
On the days I talked with you.
I think of you so often ~
And memory grows and grows
I walk the hills again with you
And I see you in summer meadows.
