MY CHRISTMAS WISHES FOR YOU

MY CHRISTMAS WISHES FOR YOU

These are the gifts I send to you
At this special time of year
Days of calm and peacefulness
And days without fear.

I wish you love and laughter
Sunshine in your sky
Flowers on your pathway
Someone to dry your eye.

I wish you mirth and music
The courage to take a chance
And when the music plays for you
I hope that you can dance.

I wish you food and plenty
And a table fully spread
A soft and downy pillow
Where you can lay your head.

I wish you friends and family
And times to spend together
I wish you celebration times
And fair and easy weather.

I wish you health and happiness
Hot chocolate on a winter night
And when you are in a hurry
I wish you a green traffic light.

I wish you quiet walks
On the beach or by the river
I wish you walks in autumn leaves
As the river reeds bend and quiver.

A sparkling clear blue ocean
Diamonds in your sky
And when you are challenged
I wish you the courage to try.

I wish you Merry Christmas
And a new year that's calm and sweet
I wish you very happy times
With new friends that you meet.

MY JOURNEY

MY JOURNEY

I have seen the stars at night
In a black and velvet sky
I have watched the moonbeams dance
And heard the river sigh.
I have stood in wonder
By the ocean as she heaves
I have splashed in puddles
And kicked through autumn leaves.

I have felt the love of family
Of  friends who care so much,
Who reach out to me in kindness
With loving tender touch.
I have faced my own mortality
With icy chill and fears,
And held the hand of someone
Who wiped away my tears.

I have faced the morning
When night shadows were all gone,
Made again the promise to myself
That I would steadily go on.
Gentle nursing hands have held me
And catered to my need
A friend's love has held me sway
And I am blessed indeed.

I've walked a stony pathway
With brambles and with thorns,
Dark nights have been upon me
Followed by the dawns.
Yet there is joy within my journey
And my days have been so sweet
For there were stars above me
And petals beneath my feet.

I have been tried and tested
And yet I journey on
With hope and with great courage
To see the battle won.
The joy is in the journey
And happy are my days
And I'm blessed with you beside me
With your sweet and winning ways.

ANGEL OF AVALON

ANGEL OF AVALON

Angels are friends who care for us
And help us on our way,
They bring a smile and wipe a tear
As they pass along our way.

A cheery smile, a comforting word,
A hug and a ternder touch.
These things bring to us such joy
And help us so very much.

Angels will listen to a story they know
Which they may have heard before,
If you have a need then I am sure
An Angel will knock at your door.

They will light your way
And bring to you much gladness,
They will in kindness wait
To chase away your sadness.

They will be there for you
And promises will keep,
Watching through the dark night
While you peacefully sleep.

Angels will watch our babies
Waking us when they cry,
Guard our teenagers while they drive
Never faster than Angels can fly.

I believe in Angels
And the touch of healing wings
I believe in friendship
And the pleasure that it brings.

I believe in Angels – I call them friends.

COMFORT

Nothing soothes a troubled soul
Like a friend who has known trouble,
Who has also seen their life shattered
And stood among the rubble.

Nothing warms a troubled heart
Like a friend who has also cried,
Who has also seen the walls tumble down
No matter how hard she tried.

Nothing calms a troubled mind
Like a friend who has walked the walk,
Traveled long distances with you
And also talked the talk.

Nothing restores a damaged heart
Like a friend whose dragons are slain,
Who will help you slay your own
And lift you to your feet again.

Nothing brings joy to a loving heart
Like a heart prepared to share,
To feel your pain and walk with you
And willingly show their care.

It is true I’ve found
In this world of froth and bubble ~
Nothing soothes a troubled soul
Like a friend who has known trouble.

SILENT WITNESS

SILENT WITNESS

I am a silent witness
To portions of my life
The days when I have been,
Daughter, mother, wife.

I am a silent witness
To the thoughts within my head,
Decisions made, plans gone wrong,
The difficult path I tread.

I am a silent witness
To the pain I feel within,
Mistakes made and time lost ~
A race I cannot win.

I am a silent witness
To the things I cannot change
No matter what the heartache ~
Things I cannot rearrange.

I am a silent witness
To the love I feel within
The love of friends and family
And those not kith or kin.

I am a silent witness
To all of my heart’s dreams,
The little, tiny loving things
The grand and glorious schemes.

I am a silent witness
To the whole of my life’s being,
The secrets living in my heart,
That no other will be seeing.

EVERYDAY MIRACLES

Everyday Miracles

Everyday miracles ~ a sky of blue
The changing of the seasons,
Walking in the park
Understanding the reasons.

Everyday miracles ~ a smile from your face
A special kind word, the touch of a hand.
Food on my table, a cosy warm bed
Seeing the way things are planned.

Every day miracles ~ a call from a friend,
Just checking to see all is fine,
Love and affection – everyday miracles
These blessings are mine.

Everyday miracles ~ kindness and trust
Tenderness and care,
Encouragement and support
Everyday miracles – so that “I dare.”

Everyday miracles – sunrise and sunset
Soft breezes on cool autumn days,
Everyday miracles – watching and seeing
The summer heat haze.

Everyday miracles – laughter and fun
Rest after weariness the wiping of tears,
Someone to share
The depth of my fears.

Everyday miracles – friends sharing
My journey who hear me when I call,
Everyday miracles
Lifting me up when I fall.

Every moment should be cherished
For they are surely there,
Those everyday miracles
Around us everywhere.
