SPRING IS HERE

SPRING IS HERE

The seasons are changing
Winter is gone
Days getting longer
Spring on the run.

Spring bulbs all finished
Blossoms all gone
A warmth in the air
Summer coming on.

The shadows are different
It’s light when I rise
I have noticed how much clearer
The blue of the skies.

The evenings are longer
Picnic time once again
The smell of the warm earth
After showers of rain.

Jasmine scented breezes
Wafting to my door
Reminding me how glad I am
That it’s springtime once more.

DIAMONDS ON THE ROSE

DIAMONDS ON THE ROSE

A summer storm at evening
A steady soaking rain,
The first blossom on a rose
That comes forth out of pain
A garden newly restored
A newly planted bush
A blossom touched with diamonds
In the evening's quiet hush

Not only is there a new blossom
But buds surround her crown
The raindrops on her petals
Shine as nighttime settles down.
Abundance and fullness
Health and life in full measure
Such are the blossoms on the rose
Making memories to treasure.

The hands that tended this rose
Have been still and inactive
But a very special gift
Means that this man will live.
He cherishes the garden
And tends it with very great care
The new life will bring pleasure
To all who visit there.

There is as special meaning
In the planting of this rose
And fragrant will be the garden
For in his heart he knows.
The work was done with loving hands
To honour other special men
Whose gift of life has meaning
And we can live again.

Roses planted near the ocean
Blossoming and thriving with care
Celebrating special lives
Allowing us to dare.
To dare to live in possibility
To turn our faces to the sun
The celebrate the gift of life
To see the battle won.

No diamonds in the whole wide world
Could hold more worth than these ~
The raindrop diamonds glistening
Across the wide wide seas.
No plants could be more beautiful
Or more significant be
Than those which grow and blossom
In a garden near the sea.

The gift of life was given
And we will forever thankful be
For the kindness and compassion
And the skills that let this be.
I bless the velvet petals
And the diamonds glistening there
They serve as a reminder
Of a special gardener's care.

IMAGINATION

IMAGINATION

Imagination does not just belong
In the minds of children young.
There are those of us who like to see
And to feel that we belong.

A friend was the artist here
And I the writer true.
We spent some time together
And painted this picture for you.

We crossed a bridge from a town
And felt the breezes soft and sweet.
Clear blue skies were here
We felt it such a treat.

A roadside stall with fruit galore
Oranges and Apples mellow.
And honey sweet plums
All purple and yellow.

An Artist’s easel all set up
In the shade of a welcoming tree.
A stream running by with water clear ~
This is the picture we see.

Pebbles here all rounded and worn
And larger ones near the edge.
Some of them have a hint of moss
And act just like a little ledge.

We can smell the blossoms
And hear the bird’s sweet singing.
Storm clouds gather here
And the tiny birds are winging.

We discuss the rain to come
At the ending of the day.
The washing and the refreshing –
It’s mother natures way.

Together we walk back
And leave the picture true.
We reflect and wonder ~
The way that Artists do.

We come back to the real world
More peaceful and serene.
Refreshed and restored
By the things that we have seen.

We have shared a symphony
Of music of the mind
And I am certain that it is
The best music you can find.
