SEASIDE MEMORIES
I remember Oh so much
Of the days when he was small
How we would laugh and play
And chase a rolling ball
I see him now as we ran and splashed
Both of us wetting our clothes,
I hear in memory his call
About seaweed between his toes.
Gathering shells to carry home
His hands all covered with sand,
I see the sun on his tousled head
And remember I thought it grand.
The days moved on and changes came,
He is taller now and older,
Those summer days were autumn touched
And I remember feeling colder.
Live moved on and he’s has gone from my life,
But in memory he always will be
The little boy with the sand in his hair
On a day beside the sea.
